Hi .My name is Murray , and Really new to “Projects”.
On Page 78 , of “The Complete idiots guide to Projects 2000” , Gantt chart view it suggests hiding columns to provide more working space . Great ! but how do I restore the default columns . The right click “Insert Column” command fails my blundering attempts to restore the original sequence.

This may be a little late, but in the future, a good idea would be to make a copy of the Gantt chart view and name it something else. Then when you want to edit the default columns, switch to the copy before making changes. That way your Gantt chart stays un-corrupted. Another thought might be in the Gantt chart view, highlight the all information box, (the most upper-left hand corner box of the grid) and copy and paste all of the projet info into a new project plan. I tested with a small project I have, and it does seem to keep all of the elements. Hope it works for you.

Hello Murray002,

To restore the default settings for the majority of items in Project you will have to use the "Organizer" to move the original item from the global.mpt file to the project file that needs to be fixed.

Move/Copy items
1. Make sure the file that has the "customization" is open
2. "Tools" select "Organizer"
3. Click on the appropriate tab (In this case Tables)
4. select the item from the list of the Global.mpt
5. Copy the item to the other project file

Hope this helps,

Michael
