gm anx connectivity

I am looking the minimum requirements(network wan/lan) for communicating/trading data with GM. We use versions of NX for design. I need hard copy documentation for clients. We already use Teamcenter to connect with our current T-1 provider and ANX as the extranet.
Questions:

Is ANX a required component?
Do I need a managed T-1?

There are more questions, but any direction would help.
