We recently upgraded to GM8PE and I am tasked with setting up options and accessibility, etc.

I am looking for a way to link the Internet Option for default Calendar to use Goldmine. After searching through FAQs and User Manuels, I finally called frontrange telephpone support and basically got a "Sorry, we do Goldmine, we don't do computer setup" response.

Hey look, email internet options is settable to Goldmine as default client, why not Calendar?? Guess what, my MS Word can be linked to pull GM fields with a little extra utility, why not a frequently used utility like my Calendar?. When I try to setup a GoTo meeting or get a meeting invite from an outlook user, why can't I get it to automatically populate my Goldmine Calendar?

Does anyone know of a 2nd-source utility or other option for automating my GM calendar like you can for Outlook?

If I'm understanding you correctly, I'm not sure that what you are trying to achieve can be done. You can Publish your GoldMine Calendar in HTML or iCal format. In fact, I do this every day for my consultants, and I discussed this in my books.

Alternatively, CompanionLink Pro to synchronize your GoldMine information over to Outlook, and then use Outlook as your Internet calendar.

DJHunt,

You do understand, and the hang-up here is that we use GM for our default email/calender/CRM client. I don't need a way to export to outlook, I need a way to import outlook type calendar requests (meetings, appts, whatever) into my GM calendar. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think there's a way.

Aside: Are you the same DJHunt that posts to the [WIND] network group?

Thanks for your response,
Dan

If you use GoldMine for e-mail and you receive an iCal request there, it will behave just like when you receive one in Outlook. You can propose a new time, accept, decline, etc.

if you use Outlook for mail, though, those requests will go over to outlook and, well, that's your choice.

Yes, as Doug has mentioned, GoldMine can create and retrieve Ike out requests directly to the GoldMine calendar. Although I personally prefer not to use this as GoldMine does not know how to publish a change request out to the web calendar. If used within GoldMine VI Kal functionality is a nice feature.
