GLOBAL variable problem in VB for GREAT PLAINS

I added a a few windows to VB in great plains. I also added a form in VBA. This form is called from different windows of great plains. I need this form to act differently depoending on where it's called from. How do i pass a variable to this form, meaning let's say this form is called from item maintenance window. I need to pass the itemnmbr field to this form. How do i do it? I tried defining global variables but it gives error and does not accept. How can i define a global variable that will be available to the GP window as well as my FORM in VB?
