Global Template Normal.dot

Hi,

I seem to have edited my global template within Microsoft Word as now everytime I open word a document I was woring on comes up as the template. I have no idea how I have done this but would like to know how to rectify the situation. I have been into Templates and AddIns but to no avail. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi,
Depending on what version of Word you are working with, you can try doing a Detect and Repair on the Help menu in your Word program to see if it fixes the problem.

In word go to tools - options - file locations - user templates . This is where the global template is kept. You can either navigate to this folder and delete the file or open it and edit it.
Either way will sort out the problem

Thanks both for the suggestions.

In the end I made a new template and overwrote that Normal.dot and it has worked.
