Global Settings for Reading Pane and Column Chooser

Is there a way to make a global setting of OFF for the Reading Pane and a global setting of columns wanted in Column Chooser so that I don't have to set each of these in every mail folder individually? It's annoying to have to keep repeating these same settings for each one of the many mail folders that I have.
