I am running SMS 2.0 SP2 on a w2k server. Whenever I setup permissions based on global groups I receive the following error message.
"SMS is unable to verify that the name you entered is an existing Windows NT user or User group.

This may be because the name indicates a local group, or because no such user or user group exists, or because the specified domain cannot be contacted.

Do you want to use this name anyway?"

The Global groups do exists (I am choosing them from a brows list) and they are not using long names. If I choose yes the group is added but it does not work. Also when I try and add a second group the browse list is blank. A site reset will fix the browse list as long as I do not add a group. I am able to add individual users. I am having this problem in two different sites (lab and pilot). In the lab SMS is installed on a w2k member server it is installed on a w2k DC in the pilot.
