I'm not sure if this can be done on the CS1000 or not.

We used to have Cisco IP phones and it had a global directory which users could look up names and numbers on their IP phones, which was managed by "Call Manager".

We now have a Nortel CS1000 system with Nortel IP phones. I see the settings for personal directories, but I was wondering is there such a thing as a global directory where all the users that have Nortel IP phones where listed like the Cisco global directory?

Thank You

Yes, its called the corporate directory.

I've always handled the corporate directory in TM. I don't know if you can get the corp dir populated without TM.

ok, I see it stands for Telephony Manager. How do I get that or how does that get installed?

Just wondering why from Cisco to now Nortel? Assume because nortel is better.

I found out that we do have TM, I'm just not sure how to get it to work. I used my phone for testing and I programmed my phone to allow CRPA ( Corporate Directory Allow ) It shows up on my phone but it says the Directory unavailable.

How do I get it to work in TM?

Why the switch? I'm not 100% sure. We had Cisco for a few years and I think some of the reasons were:

1. We use Nortel CallPilot.
2. There are more features with Nortel?
3. I work for the government and it was a higher up call. Maybe they had money to spend. Who knows....

Have a look at Keyword Search 'Corporate Directory' will give you some pointers for manual loading and also TM

Cheers!!
