In the Global Directory, we put users with IP extensions and also users with Non-IP phone numbers. This is so you can look anyone up in the directory and dial them automatically whether it is a 4 digit extension or a 10 digit phone number. We need to update this list because it fell way behind in updates.

Is there a way to export the Global Directory Listing from CCM? And can I bulk import the entries into the Global directory only? Is there something out there that can show me step by step instructions?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

I have found the BAT utility. And I have exported my user list. Now, if I update that file add names / delete names and import it again, does it overwrite the existing users? Or do I have to remove all the users that are in my new list that are already in the user database? If it overwrites, how does it effect existing users if thier passwords were changed to something personal?

If you do another import of just users in BAT with your new list, any user with the same user ID will fail during the import (including passwords, I believe, but I'm not 100% sure about that). Any new user will be added. After you run BAT, it will tell you how many entries failed and why they failed (duplicate user ID's will be the most likely cause, since they are the unique identifier in the directory). BAT will also tell you how many passed and were added to the Global Directory.

You can run a test import with just a few users - say, one or two you know are duplicates, one or two new users, maybe a max of 5 or 6. That way, you know what to expect when you run the full import (I used to do that all the time), and you can verify passwords don't change when a user already exists and it fails during import due to duplicate user ID's). Also, you only have to change a few users back if anything does change.

What if I have some users that need modification? Such as changed telephone number or changed last name?

Also is it possible to do a Bulk Delete of users? Is this put on the BAT file?
