I need you to try something for me, and tell me if it is the same for you guys:
(I am using a g4 macintosh, running flash 5, but this might be universal)

open a new flash document, and draw a black shape on the default white background. save this file, and publish it as swf and html files, just using the default settings.

Then go to a web page editor, and alter the source code to display the flash file along the RIGHT edge of the page. (the default is left)

Then open the html file in your browser, and keep hitting the reload/refresh key.
Notice that the flash 'animation' begins to load on the left, then quickly jumps to the right side as it continues loading.

This implies that the flash animation will wlays try to load top left by deault- even before it has instructions on whre to be placed. In fact, even if you use the default html file and keep hitting reload, you can see it flicker, as if it loads in the top left, then realises its in the right place after all!

Is this just with my copy, or can you guys see it too?
can anyone tell me how the html file actually interacts with the swf file?

thanks a lot, and happy new year!

HI

i've noticed this too. I've got two hook-ups to the internet. One is an ADSL connection and the other is a 9800b/s radio line. On the ADSL you don't see the jump but on the far slower radio line it happens every time.
