GL Segments Overrides

Hi - as far as I can tell the only way once can override GL segments is via inventory control locations.

Please consider my problem:

Different sales channels (e.g. Call Centre and Direct Retail) selling the same product (under the same IC category) with the stock held at a single location. I need to specify different sales accounts per channel. The GL Sales Accounts are 1000/100 (Call Centre) and 1000/200 (Retail). How can one deal with this other than adding two more locations 001-100 and 001-200 with the relevant overrides? This sort of works but means a lot of IC transfers and unnecessary admin.

Sales accounts are based on item category, not account set, and you can change the category when taking orders.

Thanks so much - that changes everything!

I was assuming that the category was attached to the item and not editable.
