Giving phones the ability to remote call forward another phone

Hello,

I have a client that uses feature access codes to remotely forward another station’s DN to another destination on their Avaya. We are currently migrating the Avaya to Cisco UCM and have been asked to see if a similar feature was available in UCM 8.6.2. This is a large 24x7 organization; we cannot use the IT staff to perform these frequent requests.

Does anyone know of an XML application that could do the trick? We are not ruling out using the auto attendant but are trying to keep the solution very simple as there is a bit of turnover in this position and want to keep training to a minimum. Any other thoughts are also welcome.

assign the mac of the phone that needs to be forwarded to the users that need to be able to forward it.Then they can use the ccmuser page to log into their profile, select the phone and call forward it.
 
That could work in a small environment, but we have thousands of phones and do know which will need to be forwarded.

You can still assign every phone on the system to the person assigned this "task". It will be cumbersome to find the right mac but not any less than dialing keystrokes on a phone.
Another option is to give users access to their phone and they can remotely forward their own phones using their ccmuser page.

If you insist on an xml app check this one out, still a web based app and not using the phone itself. Not what it's designed to do but it will work in your scenario.
