How do I prepare and use access to give and grade a quiz.

I want to be able to have them open up a document/presentation, review the presentation and then go back and open up a quiz and take the quiz, the quiz should be graded and the results maintained in the database.

Hi!

There are many more considerations then what you bring up here. For instance, when will it be too late to change an answer in the quiz? As soon as it is answered, after a page is done, after to whole quiz is completed? Will the quiz be timed? Is the original presentation a timed PowerPoint presentation or a Word Doc that they need to open and read? How many students might be taking the quiz at the same time? Should the students get a copy of the correct answers and their score at the end of the quiz? Can a student take the quiz more than once? If not, what should happen if they try?

Be as specific as possible and we can try to help. Anyway you look at it, this is a big proposition and the code is likely to be too extensive for posting. I would be willing to build a generic, or specific, Db for you, but it could take some time. Maybe someone already has a sample Db you could look at.

Jeff,

I hope you'll charge for that service!!

RPHBREW,
Yes, it's entirely possible to do what you're looking to do, but as Jeff points out it's going to be a lot of work. It sounds to me like it would take an experienced database programmer like Jeff, or one of the many others of us who hang out here, at least a week of working time to generate a really solid quiz program in Access. I, personally, don't think it's particularly fair to ask people here to design your entire database for you.

Start thinking about the issues Jeff mentioned. Do some work on the database. Come up with a table scheme and a plan for your forms and flow. Ask questions on these forums when you hit snags. People here are very helpful. But don't expect us to do your work for you.
