I have added a 4th CO line to an old NEC Electra system, and just found out none of the phones (Line 4 button) will actually Select the COL 4.
Additionally, no station rings, and no Line 4 button lights on incoming ringing COL 4.
I have tested the CO line at the modular plug going into the COI(4) unit, all good.

Reviewing the programming table of contents, I'm unsure which command MBs would control this.

An old post mentioned MB 4-21 and 4-22 but I can't understand how these would prevent one COL button from working. Lines 1-3 operate properly.

Seems like it would be a COL access by station/port command, but there is no such command.

Any advice appreciated.
Please try to be specific.

CO 4 was probably set as none in the trunk programming.
Go into the program mode and look at the following memory blocks;
Press line key 3, TRF, 03. Use the * to move the cursor to the far left, type in 04, verify that CO 4 is in group 1.
Back up (*) to the 03 in the display [04/03], type in 92 and verify line key 4 is lit. If not press LK 4 then TRF to write it.
I suggest you get a programming manual - look for Electra Elite or IPK, NOT IPK-II.

Thanks Belevedere.

I do have the original 378 page manual (with programming) for this system 'Electra Professional Level 1' 1998.

I have been programming and managing this system for years, just have never added a trunk line. Other NECs like this we serviced over the years had access to at least 4 trunk ports from many/all phones.

Taking your advice and going on site in a few minutes.

Sorry, but I just saw this is a EPro level 1 system.that programming is very different. See follow up post.

After getting into programming, go to MB 3 - 10. The numbers at the far left are the CO number, switch to CO 04. The display should show; 04/10: type----- dial 3 on the key pad to enable MF type of trunk. Press TRF to write the change.

Resolved. (Manual, programming, P. 2-107)

I enabled the Line key 4 for COL access using 'CO Line Selection(Installed, DP, DTMF)LK3, Data No. 10.

Changing the Setting data to: MF restored the LK 4 CO line access.
