Hey, nice site.

Everything went smoothly, loaded immediately. [Running P3; 800 MHz; 2mb dedicated connection]

Help Desk link not working and nothing in the far right column but I guess you know that already yeah? Links at the top of the right column are very hard to read, colours clash with the backgrounds (colour of the tabs).

Over all it looks nice and professional, Very easy to navigate.

Well done.....

funkymonk,

Thanks for taking the time! I would like to keep the plastic texture on those links ... What do you suggest would cure this problem?

a) make link text a different color (bright white)
b) change the tabbed panes color
c) change all background colors for links and tabs
d) other ...

Turning them to white could do it.

Best thing to do with this sort of thing is change the colour, walk away for a moment and then your first reaction when you come back will be the best, and clearest one. It's kinda like getting someone else to look at it.

But yeah, white's generally a good choice for putting on coloured backgrounds. But not every time.

The combination of colors might have something to do with it, hence the "events" tab seems more readable, to me at least!
Another thing to consider is the position of these titles.
They look kind of blurry! Is the font embedded? Or Bold set?
And most importantly, are they positionned on full pixels, i.e. x=175.0 rather x=175.7?

Hey oldnewbie,

Font is not embedded. I use impact and it is not bold as impact kind of is by default. The position, however, I'm not sure about it. I do not have the fla with me but I will check that out first thing tonight.

Can you speculate on the importance of x/y in case such as this?

Thanks for looking!

I would like to thank you both, bignewbie and funkymonk, for your valueable time and advise.

Your pointing out issues with blury text and clashing colors has opened a new perspective in design analysis and has added a couple of tricks (know how) to my bag.

I have revised the text on tabs and slide menu to improve legibility. I think it looks much better now!

Thank you guys!
