I have been trying for the last two days to get gimp working on my comp. Going to every forum and taking every suggestion I can't seem to find an answer to my problem.

I go to open it and the configuration wizard pops up, but its blank inside, just a white orange bordered box that disappears after a split second and then gimp does not open.

I have uninstalled, cleaned up my comp, and re-installed about 40 times. Trying it with same versions each a few time and after some one suggests something that could be in the way and with the older and portable version as well...I am so frustrated... I am about one more fail away from chucking this machine at something :(

Is your computer reasonably modern? You'd probably need at least something like 800MHz CPU, 128MB RAM, 500MB disc space, and a compatible OS like Windows 2000.

Alternatively, the download could have been corrupted. Try downloading again.
