Gimp good for logos?

Hello,

I've downloaded the most recent version of Gimp. Trying to create some new logos, am haveing little success. Has anyone designed a nice logo from scratch with this program? Any links to examples of what you've created? Am I using the right program?

Leonardo da Vinci created some great art with just a pencil.

Being artistically creative and elegant is the most difficult thing of all. Rarely are the tools you are using the limiting factor.

For me, it's impossible. There is not an artistic bone in my body so I have to leave it to others to do the classy and elegant stuff, and I take my hat off to them every time.
