which can i use registering to SLC24 module in hipath 4500 (4000 V1 ) with base station ?
or third gigaset supporting in my pabx ?

4K CMI will register any phone using DECT standard if you set the phone type to "GAP" in the Cordless Admin Tool CAT. Phones tested and released with 4K can be added as Comfort or Standard type, they have the firmware to handle 4K features, but for a standard phone like above, set it to GAP in 4K DB and you will get basic telephony working fine.

Hey Moriendi - dumb question. I'm trying to solve a "cordless" phone issue in one of my buildings. Does this imply there is a way to add something to my 4K shelf (I assume I need base stations) where I could buy basic DECT phones of any brand and have them provide basic telephony (make, receive, MAYBE hold?) to my users? I assume I would need a card and base stations to make it work, but if I can get refurbs cheap that might be an option. The cheapest Engenius for basic base and handset is like $379, but the comsumer "cordless" phones can't deal with the steel stud construction of that building very well.

donb01 - Have you considered adding a Panasonic SIP DECT system? Don't know if that would work the same or better in your environment, but they're cheap enough on Amazon and setup is pretty easy. We use the KX-TGP500. It'll handle 6 handsets and 8 SIP extensions.

Your 4K could easily do cordless, you'd need an SLC24 card and some base stations, BS3/4/5 would be OK. But none of that would be cheap, even on eBay, unless you saw a killer deal.

If the building has decent WLAN infrastructure, consider just a SIP WLAN handset like the Unify WL3 or Ascom i62. The extn would be added in the 4K as a normal SIP subscriber (SBCSU) on an STMI or vSTMI card.

Full on 4K DECT gives the best quality and features but it can be expensive. With a vSTMI card and SIP WLAN phone you are up and running. But if your network is crap - so will the speech be.

Older DECT card, the SLC16 is no longer selectable on CAT tool for recent 4K software, and SLMC the latest one will be too expensive.

SIP/WLAN could be the fastest/cheapest way to go.

Yeah, I was all over SIP WiFi when asked to "pick a standard cordless phone for the organization" but of course, like everything else around here, they decided to cut corners with the wireless network and it's not really robust enough to support voice - there are weak spots, AND no QoS (and I can't even get the network kiddies to finish setting up QoS on the wired network). I was looking at Engenius because they are good for 12 floors so I should be able to get 200 - 300 feet out of them, but dang near $400 a pop to replace a $40 cordless phone...

I'll look into the Panasonic suggestion - I have used their stuff in a previous life working with key systems, but how it interfaces to the switch will be interesting (Analog would be nice - not that I have much left P ), I do have a spare T1 spot at each site, and SIP phones, but no SIP trunking set up. It will stay that way until AT&T forces me to get rid of the PRI lines and then I might get them to spring for the STMI cards to support it.

donb01 - No SIP trunks needed for the Panasonic. Each line registers as a SIP extension. So if you can setup a STMI card with SIP extensions on it, you're golden.

OK, the 500 has been replaced by the 600 for the same price. This has me mildly excited and I need to download some manuals (cuz that's how I roll - Mr. OCD!)

Nothing in the propaganda I have so far gives me the expected range of DECT - building construction might vary, but it's healthcare so the majority of the remote sites will be steel studs and drywall. I don't think any of my other crap is running 1900 MHz so I don't think I have to worry about interference. That's mostly what I'm looking for now, because for what I'm thinking I could put 1 base and 3 handsets in each of 3 areas and I would need to cover an approximately 100-ish foot "radius" around the base station.

Looks like the standard range is about 150 feet. You can get a repeater that could push that out more around 500.

Do you have any STMI's at all Don? If no-one will buy one, you could maybe rework the one you have to include some SIP. You can mix SIP subscribers with other functions on the card, it's SIP trunk which doesn't always share (you can't put it on an STMI with SIP-Q/H323 trunks). Would need a delete and re-add of the card though.

Failing that, there's some cheap STMI2's on eBay which would be fine for SIP subscriber. STMI4's would be preferred but big jump in price. STMI2's would be fine for what you want. Just make sure it's a 4K card not 3K because they are described very similarly.
