Dear everyone,

I am currently trying to connect some simple IP Dect Base's to my CUCM release 7. Sip devices are set up, and I can connect an X-Lite session to my cucm. However, my bases fail to register their sip accounts.

I am not in the position to do some wiresharking on the base's end and my CUCM will generate a ridiculous ammount of data.

Does someone have this working? What are the appropriate base sip settings?

Thanks in advance,
Tommie

Addendum: Now my sip accounts register. But only one at a time. This must be a CUCM parameter that I am overlooking. How to have multiple sip registrations from one IP dect base? :(

Anyone?

I use 5 siemens SIP phones, like you do, but also only with one line/ one number per base station.
altough you could register to more then one sip server I also can not get it to work.

I think it has the simple reason that you only have 1 mac address per base station.

If you use, for example, an ATA186 (a 2 analog line box), you can only use the second line if you do a trick with the macaddress.
CUCM then see 2 different macaddresses from 1 box and then it works.

so because that is the way cisco does it for their own stuff, I think thats the only way, unfortunately....!

The weird thing is that CUCM does not care about MAC addresses when it comes to SIP registrations. However, it seems to be unable to register more than one account from the same IP address. I reckon if you have a different set port / sip profile per sip account it might work.

It sucks balls since I now have about 12 IP dect bases in a 120 square meter workspace. Could have done with one or 2 just to add channels... :(

Hi TPIT,

Any chance you can share your configs please? ... I'm trying to do the same and haven't cracked it yet...

Thanks

Andrew

Hey Punyelroo,

There is no config. You need one base per dect set to work with this setup. Chances are good you can assign a different port to each dect set you whish to connect. In which case you will have a lot of administering to do...

I chose the easy path and connected a base station per IP dect set. On which I created a single sip profile per dect set... :(

regards,
Tommie

Hi Tommie,

Sorry, the thread developed a bit - I was referring to the DECT base and CUCM config to get the basic registration to work - Like you I can register Xlite and other SIP devices to CUCM but not the A580 base station. I just get a 'Registration Failed' Message in the A580 SIP provider setup pages.

I have a basic SIP extension and SIP Digest user setup (which works fine with xlite).

Cheers

Hi All,
After reading this thread I NEEDED to get it to work! (Can't afford that many DECT base-stations) Hopefully this saves others a few hours.

Here is how I got it to work with the Gigaset N300 IP DECT base.
Create a Third-party SIP Device Advanced - secure profile (just tick Enable Digest Authentication)

Then create 1 user for the DECT base. enter an authentication password in the Digest field, Give it CCM end user.

Create a Third party SIP advanced telephone, assign it the secure profile & link digest user to the one created.

Assign upto 6 extension numbers on the advanced SIP telephone.

In the N300 Config, connections. Each Connection has the same authentication name & password as the DECT user, the IP address for Domain & registration server is your CUCM ip address, the only difference on the subsequent connections is each line of the SIP phone is the username field.

You can then go into Number assignment to allocate only one SIP connection to each Gigaset.

Hey Tony,

I will give it a try emmediately! Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Tommie
