Hi,

I have this Gigabyte FA5CB (v1.0) ( barebone that does not boot any more. The following symptoms apply when pushing the POWER button:

- Power LED lights up simultaneously
- HDD LED does not do anything
- I get no screen (VGA seems dead)
- CPU cooling fan rotates
- The system does not beep (like it should f.i. when removing all RAM)

I disconnected everything attached to the mainboard except for the CPU, but nothing makes the VGA work. Put in a PCI VGA card, cleared CMOS, removed the battery from the mainboard for 30minutes and replaced it.

I have been unable to replace the DIMM, because I have no spare DIMM of the same type, nor do I have another system with the same DIMM type.

I personally believe the mainboard (Gigabyte GA-8ILFL) is causing the issues, but I cannot rule this out unless I replace the DIMM..

Where to go next?

Replace your power supply with a known, working PSU.

A little knowledge is dangerous.

Thanks for yoru reply.
I used a 190W CPU from a Dell Barebone but still te same symptoms.
I also replaced RAM & CPU, but nothing changed anything.

I think I can now finally conclude the mainboard is defective.
Getting a replacement for the GA-8ILFL is gonna take a lot of time if at all possible... :(
