Hiho all,

I'm trying to rebuild one of my older systems for my family to utilize. However, I've gone and lost the drivers disk for the system...

So, here is my current dilemma.

The system is running Windows 2000, just moved their license over, and is currently running with a Gigabyte GA 7ZX R1.01 motherboard. I cannot find the driver package for this anywhere, most items have been automatically installed, however, the PCI communications controller is refusing to be identified.

I've gone up to the Gigabyte website and ran their installer with no lovin' and I've been poking around on several other sites. Mostly, I can find BIOS upgrades but no driver packages that don't tie back to the Gigabyte site.

Can anyone point me in a direction for a site where I can grab these drivers (beyond drivers.com, I really don't want to drop 30 to get these drivers).

Any help is appreciated.

Here is a direct link to Gigabytes driver support page for this particular motherboard and revision number (GA-7ZX Rev1.01)
A bit easier than going to "driver downloads" etc and guessing which chipsets your motherboard is using.

I left out those i know for sure are paid.
I know you will find lots of free sites with all those i have listed.

Another thing i have done in the past. If its an old board, say, for instance,a 440 or a 430, then i have

found that board at other mfgr sites and looked in there for drivers.
Granted, maybe they were on-board sound or something like that. but you just might find what you are

looking for elsewhere, although its time-consuming.
Best bet might be some of the sites i sent you.
Maybe you could provide more info on the mobo, like what kind of cpu it takes, that will help narrow it down as to wether its a 440 or whatever it is.

Thanks everyone for their replies, let me go digging through some of these sites. The drivers listed on the Giga-byte website are ones I've already pulled down and ran with no lovin'.

And yes, prior to asking (because it'd be my next question), I'm certain of the motherboard make and model. I've opened up the case enough in the past few days to make certain of it.

As to the processor, it is an Athlon 900 that it currently has running in it.

Anything else, let me know.

So the ones paparazi are pointing to wont work for you?

PCI communications controller? Modem? or similar device isn't part of the motherboard.
Sounds like an addon card that you need to have the driver disk for.

Sorry didn't read your post in it's entirity first time round.

Thanks for the kick in the head (by the way I'm a complete idiot on this one).

I was looking at the drivers as though they were the mobo instead of looking at them as an integrated piece of it.

Oh...in addition, after some digging and taking a BIG step back I found a "Gigabyte Update" site...

The blonde man shall now go sit in his corner...

Thank you all so much for the help
