Gift Certificates Don't Work

We have recently switched back from gift cards to the vanilla settings for gift certificates for our Aloha system, Table service 6.1.17.

I know that item# 30200 is reserved for Open Gift, but when I put it on a Submenu and press it, it doesn’t prompt for an open gift certificate amount. What am I missing? We’ve refreshed and gone end of day.

I’ve gone through the TS user’s guide and can’t seem to find the fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the Item Maintenance for the item and then the Miscellaneous tab make sure the Ask for Price is checked and then refresh system.....

This will only work if you do have administrator rights to modify the items.
 
Also be sure the item is flagged as a "revenue item" in item maintenance. That is what makes the item act like a gift cert.. ie accounts for the money in but does not include it in sales.
