OK - I still don't know what a Cognos Cube is yet.
We have a vendor who has our very important data. We get a data dump on demand and have been looking at it in Excel and discarding it. Mistake.
Now we want to go back 5 years and this vendor, once and only once, will give us access to a Cognos Cube and they expect us to know what it is and how to use it and we need to do this pretty fast. And it will have to be done via internet as they are a couple of thousand miles away.
We will move all this stuff into SQL Server 2005 ultimately.
This is a one time task. Going forward we will not dump the data. That has already stopped.
I don't expect any one to talk me through this. But if someone could point me at a web site, tutorial, expert, etc. I would be greatly appreciative.
