TFT monitors DO experience ghosting when playing games,BUT this also depends on your graphic card's capabilities.
This happens because the monitor can not refresh at the same rate as the game, therefore it has trouble "keeping up".
A geforce2mx400with TV out will play games on your monitor at about 800x600 being the highest resoultion, but if you want good quality output, you'll need to run "TV TOOL" which won't work on the mx400

. Maybe go for a Geforce3 or 4 id you don't already have one.
Another down side of TFT monitors is the viewing angle.HAving built and tested quite a few PCs,using both cheaper and more expensive flat screens,I honestly have to say this pisses me off more than anything...the quality is crisp and clear but only if you look straight on.
A common inherent problem with these,is "dead pixels"...that is, the little dots that make up the picture. There is an acceptable level of missing pixels in manufacture and you will find, the cheaper the monitor, the more "holes" it will have as the standards are lower.
You may think this is not that noticable on your Windows desktop, but wait till you get a black background...those little pixels will GLARE out at you like beacons in the night
Hope this answers your question, but do a little research on the net...I recommend you wait a year or two...there are some very promising technologises on the horizon.
