We have been using Ghost 7.5 Enterprise for over a year now without problems. Recently we switched to the new Dell Optiplex GX270 model with the Intel Pro 1000 NIC. I've successfully created a boot disk with the Ghost Boot Wizard and the newest DOS driver and everything loads up to the point where Ghost loads...then it just hangs. I've tried everything I can think of, including going through the forums here, but have found nothing. Any ideas or suggestions would greatly be appreciated...

Ironically, the only computer of the three I have networked is an Optiplex 400 GX1 that successfully backs up and restores Ghost images using Ghost 2003. A question you may ask: Might your Ghost software need to be reinstalled? There is a Repair option I believe in Ghost. Try that since you mention everything is ok until Ghost loads.

bcastner, the -fni function after the ghost.exe seemed to fix the problem. Finally! I've spent several hours on this and who would have thought it was that simple...now to find out what the -fni stands for...

Good job.

I know how irritating this is. I wanted you to see the struggles of others, including a solution.

This is decidedly not as easy as it should be.

I am using PowerQuest Deploy Center and am running into similar issues with the GX270's and the Intel Pro/1000 NIC. any suggestions on how to resolve the issues?
