I have the same problem on my Windows 7 computer at work, and my Windows Vista computer at home. When I am in a program (Adobe Photoshop, MS Outlook, etc.) and go to attach a file, or open a file, on my desktop it shows files that aren't there when I am looking at my desktop. I've tried (show hidden files) and it still doesn't show up. I tried attaching them to an email, or opening them up, and they fail. Anyone have a clue what is going on?

Here is the test to make sure your looking at the right desktop. Right click desktop and choose NEW Text Document. It should appear on your desktop. Now go into email and click the attach button and see if you can see it. If not, you might have the wrong user's desktop. Certainly a TXT document is not a hidden file and should always be visible.

Look in your C:\users\ folder and look at all the users under desktop to see if "wrong user" is the issue.

Yes, I know I'm looking at the correct desktop, because there are other folders on my desktop that wouldn't be on any other user's desktop.

They are pictures. Such as, photo.jpg, or sarahprom1.jpg All the files that do this are .jpg...but there are .jpgs that show up on my desktop.

Did you change the files type in the dialog to 'All files'?
Crossed my mind but assumed that it wouldn't be THAT simple.

Since I didn't see anything like that in other posts, I figgered I would throw it out there. Sometimes the most obvious or taken-for-granted things by some folks are simply overlooked by others. [wink]

But that would be beyond the beyond.

I would do a search for "sarahprom1" and see where it shows up.
