A long time, maybe since I'm connected to the internet (I didn't pay attention) a lot of unknown files are settled in my c:\windows directory, although the temporary map in IExplorer is c:\windows\temp.int.files. These files always begin with the letters FFF(F) followed by 4(5) numbers or letters and between ( ) a CLSID number, You know a combination of -8/4/4/4 and 12 -numbers or letters, for instance : ffffa34d (000012de-876t-bg65-hu43-00adc90ab50f).tmp. They are empty.
What to think about these files? I remove them constantly without harm. How to handle to avoid this? I annoyed, here in Belgium, several sources like magazines and even Microsoft, his majesty himself, without any answer...

Yeah I have the same issue as well, one way round it is to add the following to your autoexec.bat

if exists c:\windows\*.tmp del c:\windows\*.tmp

That will clear out all the files each time the PC is rebooted.

Cheers,

Paul
