Ghost boot disk won't get IP from DHCP server

I'm trying to clone some disks over a network. I tried connecting the machine to be imaged to the a hub and another machine with ICS running on it (I confirmed it was acting as a DHCP server). I also tried connecting the machine to be imaged to a network with a NT 4 DHCP server running on it.

In both cases when the boot disk loads up it just times out when waiting for the DHCP server, I get error message of:
1. NTS$NTST2: IP Address cannot be obtained
2. NET 5733: The protocol manager has reported an incomplete binding
3. The REQUESTER service is not started. Then when I say load it I get the following error message:
LAN adapter 1 reported error 54: Network is busy.


I'm using Linksys PCI network cards in the machines (LNE100TX).
I've trying maknig peer to peer disks and also mapping disks but both fail b/c of the dhcp problem.

Are you trying to clone with the GhostCast Server? Have you verified that the DHCP server works? Does Ghost support the NIC?

Ghost is a DOS based utility designed to minimize the installation times for operating systems such as Win95, Win95 (FAT32), WinNT, Win2K. GHOST allows you to create a Master Image file of a workstation which can then be stored on a Network Server, CDROM, JAZ or ZIP Drive and restore this Image to a new workstation or to multiple workstations. GHOST will dynamically FDISK and format the target disk, allowing FAT partitions to be expanded or contracted to fit the target drive. I'm not using GhostCast Server. DHCP was confirmed working with both ICS and the NT Server.
I added the NDIS driver when making the boot disk from the ghost wizard. The wizard recognized it and did the setup fine.

I'm trying to make image files of drives. (Not trying to image disks with a fresh image).

So basically, you created an image and then sysprepped it. Now you're trying to place the image somewhere?

ICS will not hand out IP addresses. How about try re-creating the boot disk?
