GFXUI has stopped working – how to fix this error in windows 7

I have an HP, W7 Home Premium 64 bit, i3 3.07 Ghz with 6 GB of RAM. Recently I have expirienced the error message:
Gufxi has stopped working.

I have tried the steps in:

tried updating the drivers: all drivers come back as most current.

I have also tried:

Changing the effective permissions.... the driver scanner is BS paid for item...

I have also ran a complete MS update.

I am stumped. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Go here and reinstall the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and reboot:

If that doesn't work, here are more ideas that describe removing .NET Framework components and reinstalling them:
