GFS Media Prediction vs PFC Arcserve 11

I've recently been having a problem with my GFS backup. When I run the GFS Media prediction report it indicates that I can use tapes from the scratch pool or a blank tape. But when I run the Pre Flight Check with a scratch pool tape in the drive it fails unless the tape is blank. Any ideas? It gets expensive using blank tapes each time.

Sounds like a limitation of PFC to me.

Unfortunately the PFC does accurately predict that the job will fail. So in other words. Can anyone help with the problem of a GFS backup failing when you are using the tapes called for in the GFS media prediction report?

This problem was fixed by using a Global Scratch Set. This can be set up by checking the box in Server Admin under the Admin, Configuration, Tape Engine tab. It now correctly recognizes that the tape in the drive is useable in both the PFC and the Media prediction report.
