Hello,

Ive set up a backup using rotation + enable gfs. after the weekly run, the following monday when I tried to modify the script and run it again, it keeps coming back with message " there is already a gfs media pool with the one defined , select another or delete this one first."

When I set up the gfs ,it created for example svrback_dly, svrback_wly , svrback_mly. How come i can't submit a new script but using the same svrback on the media pool name.

Please help .

Media pools cannot be shared through different jobs. You'll have to configure a pool for every job you submit. The whole gfs schedule is designed to protect media within the backup program itself without the user having to take care of it. Try to explain what it is you want to achieve, maybe there is another way to set this up.

regards

Hello,

Basically I want to set up a backup system where media usage will be based on the scratches from the daily or weekly or monthly , inside the svrback. Just like in the old arcserve 6.6 for example, it tells you what media to use .

How do I do this on arcserve 2000 ?
