I am getting the error "getuserattr lpd : A file or directory in the path name does not exist.", when using the lpstat command and when attempting to print. Can someone please give me a clue as to what might be generating this error.

I think you have problems with your [tt]lpd[/tt] user. Can you check it?
I hope it works...

Craig,

It sounds to me like an invalid UID/GID for the lpd user, as root run the following command:

su - lpd

If this fails then check the user definition in /etc/passwd, if you have another AIX box compare and ensure that they are the same.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the posts, the lpd user had been deleted by someone.

I work with tcraig, and she is off this week, but I'm sure she thanks you as well.

I recreated the lpd user this morning, following the set ups from one of our other systems.

We're all set now!

Thank you very much for your help!
