Getting type to curve to an arc

I am currently trying to create a logo for a friend, and need some text to fit perfectly to a semi-circle. This means that they text will have to arc to the top of the circle. If anybody can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Draw a circle and slelect type on path tool from flyout of the type tool. Since there are many option here, go to Help and search "type on path" to get further particulars..

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
