So why am I getting this message in the log?
Is it a pretty standard message.

[TEST UNIT READY ] is a command sent by the Tape Engine to check the status of the tape drive.

So yes it is a standard message.

There is a check box in the ARCserve server admin (Choose Admin-Configuration-TapeEngine in the Server Admin) where you can choose to log tape alerts if desired. I think this check box is selected.
