UX:lp: ERROR: Terminfo entry for the requested printer not available
UX:lp: TO FIX: Contact the administrator

Does anyone have any ideas on this? The printer files, terminfo.* have correct permissions, filesize, ownership. Everyone has access to print to it. I have removed and readded the printer multiple times. I have shutdown/restarted the print server multiple times.

Thanks in advance.

what printer type are you selecting?
is it a network printer or a local?
is it postscript?
when did it start happening?
have you recompiled terminfo recently?
have you tried reinstalling the lp package?

Caldera Support

This is an HP6MP printer coming off the parallel port of the server using a PCL-5 driver. This issue started happening about 1.5 months ago. Terminfo has not been recompiled recently. I have not attempted to reinstall the lp package.

Thanks for the help, but I solved the problem. I just recompiled the /usr/lib/terminfo.src file.
