Getting the value of a cookie

I was wondering how can I get the value of a cookie and
use it to display an alert depending if it has been established or not.

Thanks. Not exactly what I was looking for.
I forgot to mention that the cookie was established using
ColdFusion.

No idea about coldfusion, I would just test the cookie against "" and null jared@aauser.com

robman, the question have been asked many times in the coldfusion forum (and answered ;])
i can't give you the number of a thread, but you can perform a search and i'm sure you'll easily find the answer. Query for "cookie" will be enough i guess
