'Hello everybody,

I've my own Apache webserver...but I'm experiencing some problems getting him online...it works and I can visit it with 127.0.0.1 ...but I can't get it accesable from the outside...so I wanted to ask for some help getting it online??? I've ADSL and a infrastructure type of network...and I've got Apache from the "UniServer 2.7" pack...so if anyone could help I would really appreciate it???

Greetz,

If you have a router, you need to forward all http traffic coming in on your public ip to the server's network ip. You should not have to change anything at this point. Apache will listen for all ip addresses on port 80 by default. When you register a domain name, you will be able to use that as the 'ServerName" but for now, anyone from outside of your local net needs to access your server via your public ip. If you are not sure where to put your web pages, open httpd.conf and look for "DocumentRoot". It has the path to your html pages. You can change it or just start putting your own stuff in that directory. If you change the DocumentRoot, you will need to change the path of its directory container.
