Is there a way to reverse the compilation process to create java files from their class files again? I've been told there is a download somewhere but have not been able to find it.

This forum is for J2EE questions, standard Java questions should be asked in forum269 .

Anyhow, google for "java decompiler" - there are quite a few out there.

A word of warning though - it can be illegal to decompile java class files - check that you are not breaking the law before you do so.

I don't think it can be illegal to decompile a class, what can be illegal is use the source code afterwards.

Cheers,
