Installing a 3300ICP onto LAN.
IT personel config. VLAN 1 FOR COMPUTERS and VLAN 2
for voice. The phones get their ip address from
external DHCP server with VLAN 2 Priority 6 then
nothing happens,The ip address 10.5.0.53 Boot ver 01.00.02.32 is displayed.

If give the phone a static ip using VLAN 1 the phone
downloads and waits for pin to be entered.

If I give the phone a ststic ip using VLAN 2 the phone
will not download.

Have you got inter-vlan routing, or can you access the mitel system from your pc on the data vlan.

Looks like your Mitel 3300 is on VLAN 1 not on VLAN 2. Make sure that the switch port that the Mitel 3300 is only allows access to VLAN 2. Make sure that the switch ports that the IP sets are on have the default or native VLAN 1 as untagged and VLAN 2 as Tagged. Is your 3300 set to hand out DHCP to IP sets? This might get you going. If not, then you may need a router in place to route between the two VLANS.

Good Luck.

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

yup this is not a routing issue rather a switch config issue. the controller should be an access port on vlan 2 (voice vlan) and not belong to any other port. Ports that have pcs and phones connected should be tagged in vlan 2 and untagged in vlan 1.
