Getting table error

Hi,

I have MYSQL installed on my machine. Using MYSQL Contoll center. I logon. I created a database, I connect to the database. I then create a table. I see that table in the left navigation side. Then when I double click on the table
to get into the table so that I could insert the records. I get in, I see the fields that i have created ,but i see at the bottom this error, i don't know why? And if I enter the values, I save it but the do not get saved.

The period in your table name is causing the problem. Replace it with an underscore.

Thanks, no there is no period. My database name is 'cars' and I have only one tables it is called 'detail'
