Getting success or failure info from scheduled DTS packages

I am trying to find a way to recieve failure informarion from a dts package when the transform workflow fails. We are scheduling many simple packages and need to know when they fail. It seems that email will not report on the transform workflow completion.

We are using SQL 7.0

Can anyone give me some ideas on this

You can get Email whenever a job completes, whether it fails or succeeds. Open the Job properties in Enterprise Manager. Click on the notifications tab. From the drop down box on the right side of the E-mail operator line, select "Whenever job completes." Terry

I have not been able to locate the Job properties in Enterprise Manager. I may not be looking in the correct place.

If I do find it I would like to be notified of only a failure since I am using 47 individual DTS packages to extract data from an HP Image database.

Locate the job in Enterprise Manager. Right click to bring up the menu and click on Properties. Or double-click on the job to view the properties. Terry

I find no Job Properties in EM I did find an email box in the job scheduller wizard but I am no scheduling jobs of this nature.

I am scheduling DTS packages 47 to be exact these are extracting data from an HP Image database into SQL 7.0, The email task I find will not respond to the workflow transform to allow me to get this data. By wanting only failures reported I can reduce the email traffic.

Is there a location that I could query for the package completion information?

Open the DTS Package. Right click and bring up the properties. On the General tab you'll find "Error Handling." You can choose to output errors to a file or write completion status to the event log. Terry

When I run a package manually by right-clicking the package icon and selecting execute, it works fine. But when I try to schedule the package as a job to run regularly, it fails at the very first task with a message that is not very clear -
