i am running apache2 on ubuntu and have bought a domain from godaddy. i want to know how to get a static ip (with road runner) and how to host my domain name on my own (already created) server.

I don't think Road Runner issues static IP's for regular customer accounts. In order to get a static IP you must upgrade your account to a business account.

If upgrading is not an option you might look at a service like dyndns
