Getting Started with PERVASIVE

I have worked with Relational Database mostly ORACLE.
Now I need to work on a different Project - from Avanti which uses PERVASIVE SQL and Crystal Reports.
A few questions

1. In Oracle I use SQL Worksheet/SQL PLus to query the database. What kind of tools are available to query PERVASIVE ?

2. In Oracle - we have a SID - name of database is specified at logon. How would we know which/name of the database with Pervasive ?

3. Where can I can get a brief overview of the PERVASIVE SQL architecture - like how data is organized ?

4. What is the relationship between DDF's AND BETRIEVES in the Pervasive env ?

You can use ODBC or the activex controls. There site

has additional info. As far as the DDF's you need these in order to use ODBC or any 3-rd party products. If you don't have them you will need to get them from the vendor or you can check out btsearch at

http://www.nssdd.com.

It helps you to analyze your data and create the DDF files. It will also help you with the concept of DDF files their structure.
