Hello,I am wondering how to get my nortel Mics phone system with LD line cards to work with Shaw Digital line.We are dropping Telus Service. Thanks

Maybe you can tell us a little more about your old service, your new service and your system.

[ol 1]
[li]You said your old service provider was Telus. Was it a POTS, a PRI or another kind of service?[/li]
[li]You said you new service provider will be Shaw. Will it be a POTS, a PRI or another kind of service?[/li]
[li]You said your system is MICS:
[ol a]
[li]What is the software version?[/li]
[li]What kind of trunk cartridges are installed on the system?[/li]
[/ol][/li]
[li]What do you mean by "LD line card"?[/li]

Hello, the existing incoming Telus lines are analog, the new Shaw lines are digital. The MICS line card is a DS line card.Shaw tells me they do not know what I need to make there lines work.Any assistance would be appreciated .Thanks Gordon

You need to ask Shaw how they are presenting the lines to you. As PRI/T1 or are they converting to analog with a "blackbox". Those are your only 2 options.

Shaw digital phone is a POTS analog service.

It converts the analog line to digital to transmit over their network but on your side of the connection it's just a plain old telephone service and you plug the lines into your system in exactly the same way as the old Telus service.

The "digital" part of the name is just branding. It's an analog service on your end.

No changes should be required to your MICS other than plugging in the wiring to the phone jacks coming out of the new Shaw box.
