Getting rid of FIN spooled files without ending job

Hi all

I've got a continuous job running in a 24*7 factory environment. We get buildups of spooled files at status FIN and from time to time we'll get an escape message saying that we've reached the max no of spooled files, so we have to end and restart the job. We've increased the max "to the max" already. Finding a convenient time to end and restart the job is difficult in the factory as it's connected to various robots and stuff that I don't understand!

Is there any way of systematically:

- detecting the build-up of spooled files
- and/or getting rid of them without ending the job?

Help appreciated.

Suzie,

I got this 2-step process from a NG but can't remember where or when.

- Signon as QSECOFR, or user with *ALLOBJ authority.

- CALL QSPFIXUP

This program processes each spooled file on the system and checks that the status of them agrees with what the system shows. It corrects out of synch spooled files, f.e. if the QSPL member is deleted and not the entry in outq. It could run a long time depending on the number of spooled files on the system and not just for the 'FIN' status.
See if this makes those 'FIN' spool files go away then.

Thanks, I'll look into that
Will have to have a chat with QSECOFR!
