Hi,

I am in need of some advice as to how to handle and get rid of blank spaces created in the sub-report because of suppression of rows by the formula.

For example:

I have a sub-report A in which the records appear like this:

123 jsdhfdsfsdafdsfjsaj dfksd
345 fdsfklsjfdslfdsfjkm asfds
678 dsjfhsdfsfdkhsdfhsd kjfdf

And another sub-report B below A in which the records appear like this:

--blank space here----
231 fdsfdsfdsfsdfdffdsf dsfff
--blank space here----
--blank space here----
987 sdkfdfdskfsdfsdfdff dfdfd
--blank space here----

The blank space is created because of the suppression by the formula for sub-report B wherein the records that are same as in sub-report A are being suppressed.

Any way(s) how to handle this....CR(8.5)

Thanks

Tek

Blank space here doesn't describe where in the subreport the suppression is occuriing.

You have 2 ways to handle this, and using suppression probably isn't the best way.

You can eliminate the rows from the report by using a Report->Edit Selection Formula->Record and placing the criteria there to eliminate the rows from the report entirely, or if you still want to use suppression, right click the section->Format section and make sure that the Suppress Blank Section is enabled.
