Getting ports into a normalizer transformation

If you are using a non-cobol datasource it seems there is no way to get ports into the normalizer except to type them in one-by-one. I'm using Powerconnect for MVS (aka Striva Detail) as the source. I do not want to type in thousands of column names as ports. Any ideas?
