Getting Network or Other Communication error

I've started to get a "The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check your connections and try again" error.

I've been using Office XP on an XP/Professional platform for about 2 months now, with no troubles.

This error started to appear about a week ago. The only thing I had done around that time was install the MS security patches. I restored the system (using a drive image, not XP Recovery), and reinstalled office, but I still get the error.

The really wierd part is that when i open Outlook it will send and receive for a little while after the app opens. I only start getting the error after I've been outside Outlook for a while. All other internet software work fine (Internet Explorer, FTP, etc).

Unfortunately, the error doesn't give more details or link to anything, so I don't have a clue where to start.
I still get this error.

Any ideas on what to look for?

See if there are any clues in event viewer when this happens --> Start, Run, eventvwr.msc

Just chekced the log.

There was an error in the log around the time of the first error, but if I re-check mail and resend the error, the log doesn't have any new information.
