This is strictly for a side-project at home, I've acquired an NEC AP300 and 3 G566D DECT phones. I'm running Asterisk for a PBX and have an assortment of IP phones from different manufacturers and a couple of analog lines. I'd like to get the NEC phones to talk to the Asterisk system over SIP. I've spent a good many hours researching and looking for all of the things I need and I think it boils down to this:
[ul]
[li]I need the DAP Controller software to get the AP300 configured at all and to pair the handsets to it[/li]
[li]I was able to locate a copy of DAP Controller 6.21.0242[/li]
[li]The current DAP Controller software requires a license file unless using it with an NEC small business system[/li]
[li]The license file can only be purchased at a high cost from an NEC dealer (if they would even be willing to sell it without accompanying hardware/support contract), doesn't make sense for me just experimenting[/li]
[li]Older versions of the DAP Controller (Release 5) did not require a license file, so I may be able to use that[/li]
[li]I've searched high and low, but have been unable to find a copy of DAP Controller Release 5[/li]
[li]I'm going to need an AP300 firmware (.dwl) file, DAP Controller software won't proceed without it[/li]
[li]Have also had no luck locating a single .dwl firmware file for any of the DECT APs[/li]
[/ul]
I'm hoping someone who's worked on these systems before may be able to steer me in the right direction, as far as whether all of my above conclusions are correct, and where I might find the missing puzzle pieces to get this all up and working. Thanks if you've read this far!
