Getting my Local IP Address

Can someone please help. I am trying to get my local IP address and getting nowhere using C / Windows API. If any one has been able to acheive what I thought should have been a relatively simple task could they please let me know.<br>

if you are using 9x the command is winipcfg. You can also see the contents of all the protocols with netstat or netbios with nbtstat and the arp chache with arp. all of the commands can be run from the command prompt
